Axalta ViterPrime SBR

Axalta ViterPrime SBR is a single pack alkyd zinc phosphate high build anti-corrosive primer. Can be applied to hand prepared or blast cleaned steel surfaces.

Best Uses

Axalta ViterPrime SBR is a tough and durable primer with good adhesion and mechanical properties. Suitable as a general purpose primer for steel with good build properties and hold up on edges.

Application

Preparation

New Steelwork: Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2½ BS EN ISO 8501-1: 2007. Surface profile of 50–75 microns. Should blast cleaning be impractical the surface should be prepared to Swedish Visual Standard St 3 taking care to avoid polishing the surface. Surfaces to be painted should be completely dry and free from any contamination likely to affect the performance of the coating.

Mixing

Must be mixed thoroughly by using a mechanical agitator before use. Agitate periodically to ensure paint remains homogeneous.

Application

Suitable for application via airless spray, conventional spray, brush or roller. May be overcoated with itself or other xylene based products after adequate drying time under suitable ambient conditions. The compatibility and suitability of overcoating etc. should be confirmed prior to application.
