International Interprime 538
International Interprime 538 is a one pack alkyd primer containing zinc phosphate anti-corrosive pigment.
Best Uses
International Interprime 538 is formulated as a general purpose conventional primer for application to internal steelwork. For use at Newbuilding.
Suitable for overcoating with:
- Interlac 542
- Interlac 665
- Intertherm 891
Application
Use in accordance with the standard Worldwide Marine Specifications. All surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry and free from contamination. High pressure fresh water wash or fresh water wash, as appropriate, and remove all oil or grease, soluble contaminants and other foreign matter in accordance with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.
For new building where necessary, remove weld spatter and smooth weld seams and sharp edges. Clean welds and damaged shop primer by power tooling to Pt3 (JSRA SPSS:1984).
This material is a one pack coating and should always be mixed thoroughly with a power agitator before application.
Suitable for application via airless or conventional spray, brush or roller.
