KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat
KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat is a low odour aggregated opaque white paint, which can be used to create surface texture prior to applying a KEIM Colourwash BASE.
Best Uses
KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat is perfect if you are looking to create a textured surface on interior walls and ceilings. It is suitable for use on bare and previously painted surfaces, and can also be used on bare lime plaster, however, when applying to bare lime plaster you will need to apply Colourwash Lime Primer first. Please note that Keim Colourwash Textured Undercoat is not suitable for use on plastic, metal or wood.
Application
All surfaces should be fully prepped prior to application. Always ensure to abrade any gloss/sheen finishes with sandpaper to create a key. Repair any defects with only mineral-based materials (such as KEIM Dolomitspachtel) and allow 1 day per millimetre thickness drying time. When applying to new lime plaster, you should allow a minimum period of 28 days to dry, and then apply a coat of KEIM Colourwash Lime Primer 12 hours before painting. Ensure surfaces are clean, sound and dry.
Thoroughly stir KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat before application. Apply using a soft, wide brush (such as the KEIM Oval Brush), working from the bottom of the wall upwards. Make overlapping “M” and “W” motions with the brush to create dimension, blending drips where required. Maintain a wet edge throughout application and work to a natural break line. Allow a minimum period of 12 hours before proceeding.
